EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson and Climate Solutions
On June 8th, 2012, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson was in Seattle to give a keynote address at the annual Climate Solutions breakfast and to provide the commencement address at the University of Washington the following day. Lucky for us, she was also interested to learn more about the Bullitt Center.
At the Climate Solutions breakfast, the Bullitt Center was featured in a “Solution Story” video that highlighted ways the project is helping reduce climate pollution and shift the marketplace. A crowd of nearly 1,000 clean tech, green building and climate leaders enjoyed the premiere of the short video, which is also available on Vimeo. Produced by Hal Calbom, the Bullitt Center team is please to have a new way to tell our story. Feel free to share it widely.

The following morning, a small group gathered at the Bullitt Center construction site to give Administrator Jackson a tour, along with regional administrator, Dennis McLerran. Led by Denis Hayes and Chris Rogers (Point32), the tour emphasized the energy performance of the building, along with the petals in the Living Building Challenge. Throughout, the Administrator asked insightful questions. We will be following up with her on several topics.
